Our Rules (Terms of Service)

Welcome to Bud9et! Here are the rules for using our app. We've written them in plain English to make them easy to understand.

1. Your Agreement

By using the Bud9et app, you're saying "yes" to these rules. If you don't agree with them, you shouldn't use the app.

2. What Bud9et Is

Bud9et is an app to help you manage your money. You can connect your bank accounts, see where your money goes, create budgets, and understand your spending habits. We are committed to keeping the app running smoothly and securely for you. We've partnered with industry-leading services that share our dedication to reliability and security, so you can trust that your data is safe and the app is available when you need it.

3. Personalized Insights

To give you the best service, Bud9et uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to analyze your unique spending patterns. This allows us to provide you with personalized insights and recommendations that are tailored specifically to your financial life.

4. Connecting Your Bank (with Plaid)

We use a trusted service called Plaid to securely connect to your bank accounts. By using Bud9et, you give us and Plaid permission to view your financial information. Plaid has its own rules for how it handles your data, which you can find in their Privacy Policy.

5. Playing Fair

Please use Bud9et responsibly and for its intended purpose. You agree not to:

  • Use the app for any illegal activities.
  • Do anything that could harm, disable, or overload our service.
  • Try to break into our systems or access other users' data.
  • Copy, modify, or resell our app or its design.

6. Who Owns What

We own the Bud9et app and everything that makes it work, including our code, design, and brand. We give you a personal license to use the app.

7. Paid Features

Some features in Bud9et may cost money now or in the future. We call these "Paid Services." You can see what they are and how much they cost on our Pricing page. We use a secure service called Stripe to handle all payments. All payments are final unless the law says otherwise.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

We work hard to provide a great service, but we can't guarantee it will always be perfect. Bud9et is provided "as is" without any warranties. This means we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or meet all your needs.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bud9et will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that result from you using (or not being able to use) the service.

10. Indemnification

If your use of Bud9et leads to a legal claim against us, you agree to cover our costs, including legal fees.

11. Ending Your Account

We can close or suspend your account at any time if you break these rules. You can also choose to delete your account whenever you want by contacting us.

12. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we'll post the new terms on our website. By continuing to use Bud9et after the changes, you agree to the new rules.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Any legal disputes will be handled in the courts of Ontario.

14. A Quick Disclaimer (Not Financial Advice)

Bud9et gives you information about your finances, but it's not a substitute for professional financial advice. We are not financial advisors, and everyone's situation is different. Before making big money decisions, it's a good idea to talk to a professional.
